The Malaysia National E&E Forum 2022 returns for another year.
The E&E Industry in Malaysia is doing really well; export for first 9 months to September 2022 was up 35% from a year ago, investments in 2021 was a record RM148 billion.
However, the industry is facing headwinds; slowing global demand, rising costs and geo-political developments with the CHIPS Act and Ukraine war.
The world and the E&E industry is faced with sustainability challenges in the 3 pillars: economic, environmental and social. How do we integrate sustainability in business and innovations? How do you address the areas of concern such as Climate Change, developing green practices, reducing carbon emissions in the E&E industry?
This event is free for both in-person and virtual attendees. You may attend this event in-person event at MIDA Sentral or join us via Zoom. In-person seats are limited and available on a first-come-first-served basis. This event is open to the public.

Bertrand Stoltz is STMicroelectronics’ Executive Vice President in charge of Finance, Global Shared Services and Systems, as well as the Company’s Asia Public Affairs, and has held both roles since April 2022. He also sits on ST’s Corporate Ethics Committee.
Stoltz started his career in the Finance department of SGS-Thomson (now ST) in Tours, France, in 1994. From 1999 to 2002, he worked at the Company’s headquarters in Corporate Strategic Planning and Corporate Internal Audit. In 2002, Stoltz moved to Singapore to lead ST’s Asia Internal Audit team. He rose to Head of Finance at ST Singapore in 2005. Stoltz was subsequently promoted to Group Vice President, expanding his mandate to cover Asia, Americas, France, Italy, and most recently all local financial reporting and regional business control across ST entities worldwide.
Stoltz acts as Managing Director for ST’s Singapore entities and serves as a Board Member at several other ST affiliates.
Bertrand Stoltz was born in Moulins, France, in 1970. He holds an honour’s degree with a major in finance from the Institute of Political Studies in Lyon, France. He also graduated with a degree from the University Business School in Tours, and the International Executive Program of INSEAD.
Jimmy Goodrich joined SIA in 2015 and is vice president for global policy. In this role, Jimmy leads SIA’s global policy team and works to advance SIA’s international competitiveness, trade, supply chain, and China policy agenda. An expert in Chinese technology and innovation, Jimmy is a member of the Executive Committee for Beijing-based United States Information Technology Oce (USITO), representing SIA in his capacity.
Jimmy has a diverse background in Chinese technology policy issues. Previously he was director of China policy at the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI) in Washington D.C. Before moving to Washington D.C. in 2012, Jimmy spent a total of seven years working in the tech sector in China, including for Cisco Systems, APCO Worldwide, and USITO.
Jimmy has a bachelor’s degree in comparative politics and East Asian studies from Ohio University. He is professionally uent in Mandarin and serves on the Board of Directors of the American Mandarin Society, which promotes mandarin- language study for young Americans.
Jan leads Deloitte’s Semiconductor consulting practice in Southeast Asia. Prior to Deloitte, he led PwC’s supply chain and operations consulting team in Hong Kong, as well as holding various operations and engineering roles in the semiconductor industry, including process development, manufacturing engineering, and supply chain.
Jan has over 25 years of experience leading projects in semiconductors, semiconductor capital equipment, outsourced manufacturing, and electronics assembly and test. His client work spans operations transformations, R&D, new product and process development, strategy development, and supply chain management.
Jan holds a Bachelors Degree in Chemical Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University, and an MBA from UCLA’s Anderson School of Management.
KL Bock joined Western Digital or known as SanDisk in June 2010 after 21 years in Motorola and STATSChipPAC. He brings with him more than 30 years of vast experience in various functions inclusive of QRA, Operations, Supply Chain, factory GM, greenfield construction and start-up in China & Malaysia. He is currently the SVP of Western Digital Global Flash Backend Operations, managing the end-to-end Supply Chain, Operations, Fulfillment and Packaging Technology Development of both the captive factories and contract manufacturing with footprint across six countries.
KL has a proven track record in transforming conventional factory to “Lean 6 Sigma Automation – achieved industry pioneer in fully integrated Lights-Out manufacturing and industry pioneer in vertically integrated Wafer-In-Drive-Out manufacturing.” With this transformation, all the captive factories, SanDisk Semiconductor Shanghai (SDSS) and SanDisk Storage Malaysia (SDSM) has been designated the Lighthouse status, with SDSS being recognized as the first factory to achieve in one cohort, both the Advanced 4IR Manufacturing Lighthouse and China 1st Sustainability Lighthouse and SDSM being recognized as the Asia 1st Sustainability Lighthouse and Malaysia 1st Advanced 4IR Manufacturing Lighthouse by the World Economic Forum.
KL has received numerous awards such as Executive of The Year for Malaysia Management Excellence Award, featured in CEO Magazine and also was appointed as a 4IR Technical Advisor for MIDA, a beacon to share the 4IR journey to various industry captains. He is also a Certified Chief Master Coach by ITD World and SEMI SEA board member.
KL holds a Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering from Tunku Abdul Rahman University and a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Keele, United Kingdom.
Arina is the Malaysia Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) Leader, and Partner at Ernst & Young Consulting Sdn Bhd, as well as the EY Asean Integrated Reporting subject matter expert.
Arina assists clients to integrate sustainability into long-term strategic and operational plans to create lasting value, enhance reputation and build public trust. Her experience is primarily in sustainability consulting, environment, social and governance (ESG) strategy, due diligence, framework development, outcome measurement and stakeholder management.
Under Arina’s leadership, the EY team in Malaysia issued the inaugural Climate Risk Disclosure Barometer Malaysia in 2020 and 2021, which analyzed the reporting disclosures of Malaysia’s top 100 public- listed companies’ against the global Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations.
Arina supported Bank Negara Malaysia and the Securities Commission Malaysia Joint Committee for Climate Change (JC3) to facilitate capability-building workshops under the UK Prosperity Fund’s ASEAN Low Carbon Energy Programme 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Vice President of Global Industry Sustainability Programs is responsible for leading teams, devising, and directing client engagements, and overseeing processes and deliverables in Environmental Stewardship, Supply Chain Resilience, and Supplier Resilience, including Responsible Sourcing. This highly visible role positions SEMI as the premier trade association addressing these critical needs through superior thought leadership and delivery of actionable roadmaps for industry participants to implement. The role does require an astute background in business development, project management, and technology.
Bhat is a semiconductor industry veteran who has held senior positions in semiconductor fabs, assembly and test operations, quality, and customer and supplier management at companies including Micron, GlobalFoundries, Motorola and Texas Instruments.
Bhat is passionate about creating sustainable business practices and thereby creating an ecosystem of changemakers such as corporates, government, academia, and society to accelerate social and economic parity through technological innovations. Dr. Bhat received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin.
PJK, PJM, BA (Hons.) ELLS, USM
Chan is the Senior Advisor of the Delivery Centre of Excellence (DCoE), Global Sales Learning & Development at Dell Technologies. In total, he has been with Dell for 21 years and has over 24 years of total working experience in global IT sales and services, MNCs and retail organizations.
He has been training now for 11 years, including his earlier Asia Pacific regional training roles at Dell, ServiceSource International, Weber-Stephen Products and Veeam Software. He now helps business units to grow via training, development, coaching and strategic consultations.
His expertise and proficiency emanate from having clocked around 3600 hours of selling skills, communication skills, customer mindset and IT-related products, trends and strategies and cloud CRM, quoting tools/application trainings for the corporate world.
He believes in “Helping People, Empowering Success” in helping his stakeholders to realize their inner true potential to grow and thrive in their career and personal lives.
He is the company’s regional certified representative on ESG since 2020 and a very active member in the company’s Employee Resource Groups activities. He advocates for a better world, a better society via environmental awareness and green initiatives.
He possesses a Bachelor of Arts Degree in English Language and Literature (ELLS) from the Universiti Sains Malaysia, 1998. He is fluent, bilingually in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
Wong Shou Ning is a presenter and producer with The Morning Run on BFM89.9. Her past interviews have ranged from global CEOs to politicians and even up and coming Malaysian corporates. She delights in breaking the news and being the first to spot market trends that no news outlet has covered. With decades of fund management experience under her belt with roles at Prudential Unit Trust, UOB Asset Management and Hong Leong Assurance, Shou Ning brings life to what most would regard as just numbers and charts.
A Business Administration graduate from the University of Malaya, Sivasuriyamoorthy Sundara Raja joined Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) in 1989 as an Assistant Director in the Food, Beverages and Chemical Division. Over the last 33 years he had served in the Strategic Planning and Policy Advocacy Division,
Investment Promotion Division and Incentive Coordination and Collaboration Office (ICCO).
Mr.Siva was posted to Germany twice to head MIDA’s office in Cologne (2006–2009) and Frankfurt (2013–2017). He was responsible to move MIDA’s office from Cologne to Frankfurt and to establish MIDA’s second office in Germany in Munich. As an overseas Director in
Germany, Mr.Siva was responsible to attract foreign direct investments from Germany and the Benelux countries, namely Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg.
Throughout most of his 33 years career with MIDA, Mr.Siva was involved in various projects on Malaysia’s industrial development, such as the 2nd and 3rd Industrial Master Plans (IMP), 8th-10th Malaysia Plans, equity liberalisation of the manufacturing sector, formulation of investment incentives and policies, and empowerment of MIDA. Mr.Siva was also responsible for the coordination of the Study on Exit Strategy for Foreign Labour Intensive Industries, formulation of policies and guidelines for the establishment of Domestic Investment Strategic Fund (DISF) to accelerate the shift of Malaysian-owned companies in high technology industries, as well as the establishment of One Stop Centre and Business Travellers Centre for Short Term Business Travellers during COVID 19 Pandemic.
Mr.Siva was promoted as the Executive Director (Investment Promotion) on 1st November 2018 and moved to his current position as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer (Investment Promotion & Facilitation) effective 1st May 2021.
